How do you unblock speaking in a language you already understand?

Understanding is recognition. Speaking is retrieval. You can know every word and still not find those words fast enough to keep up in a conversation. Only practice at retrieving makes speaking fast. In 2000 Sentences, that practice is retrieving sentences and saying sentences out loud from memory. Soon the words arrive before you reach for them. That is what we call sentence activation. Here is the research behind it.
